The board game market is exploding and projected to grow year on year for the foreseeable future. Despite this growth, rulebooks remain an obstacle. Many games are bought and never played, and others are never bought in the first place because of their intimidating set of rules. Dized, the companion app that teaches users how to play board games, was crowdfunded on Indiegogo in September 2017. The campaign, netting $151,956 from 4547 backers, was the most crowdfunded app on Indiegogo ever, 4th considering Kickstarter projects as well, and 3rd by the number of backers.
WritingBold took care of the marketing side of the project, coordinating a team of six regional managers, devising the content strategy and executing email and social media campaigns all throughout the 31 days of the campaign.
